About Me

My name is Sherry Fyman and I have a simple guiding philosophy I would like to share:

“In life our first job is this, to divide and distinguish things into two categories: externals I cannot control, but the choices I make with regard to them I do control. Where will I find good and bad? In me, in my choices.”

~ Epictetus

Choices.  Instead of feeling depressed and hopeless about the problems we all face -- global, national, personal -- I choose to recognize the good that I can do through the decisions I make every day.

This blog will be about one of the biggest challenges we are facing:  climate change, how human beings are contributing to it and what we can all do on a personal daily basis to lessen our carbon footprint.

One thing I did was to co-found Sunrise Lane Products  with my wife.  We sell cruelty free and environmentally safe personal care and household cleaning products. Have done for more than 25 years.  Our idea was simple - make it easy for people to make the right choices.

My blog will also talk about issues of animal cruelty and a vegan diet.  My thinking is that you can't heal the world if we flood it with animal abuse and cruelty.  A vegan diet brings both of these issues together.  The consumption of meat is one of the major contributors to the increase of greenhouse gases and its impact on climate change.  Being vegan is much easier than you might think!  I'll be sharing with you great vegetarian/vegan restaurants around the world that I've found in my travels.

I hope you'll join me in the challenge to heal.  Where will I find good and bad? In me, in my choices.
